Joining NightDragon to Fuel NightScale Platform and Drive Portfolio Growth 

Today’s threat landscape is more challenging than ever. Enterprises face expanding attack surfaces spanning clouds, remote work environments, IoT devices, critical infrastructure, supply chains and more. Meanwhile, geopolitical instability and conflict have heightened worldwide. This has created a perfect storm of cybersecurity threats facing governments, businesses, and individuals, posed by bad actors globally with the funding, motivation, and technological means to attack. 

As a result of this rising risk landscape, cybersecurity budgets have remained resilient even as many companies are forced to make budget cuts in other areas due to the larger economic environment. It is one of the few bright spots across the tech landscape during this economic shift–and with that uninterrupted spending, innovation has continued to flourish.

NightDragon sits at the forefront of this innovation as it invests and advises leading companies in the cybersecurity, safety, security and privacy (CSSP) space that are helping close the gaps between offense and defense. I am happy to announce that I will be joining the team to advance the next stage of expansion for NightScale, our strategic operating platform designed to help these portfolio founders accelerate growth and scale to meet the challenges we face today. 

Over the last ten years I’ve had the privilege of advising founders, investors, executives, and boards across the tech landscape on strategic partnerships, securing growth capital to fund innovation, M&A, and making the leap from private to public markets—all the critical path events that companies must navigate as they scale and build enduring businesses. At both JP Morgan and UBS, I dedicated my time to the cybersecurity space, partnering with clients such as CrowdStrike, Tenable, RSA, ForgeRock, NortonLifeLock, and BeyondTrust, among many others. I most recently led Business Development & Strategy for an early-stage content management & delivery startup where I played a key role in building out the go-to-market and partnerships function. 

I’m excited to now bring that decade of experience to NightDragon’s highly differentiated platform NightScale, which is purpose-built to help high-growth startups overcome market challenges and scale towards great outcomes for our investors. Built through the operating experience of our team, NightScale delivers a proprietary combination of people, partnerships, programs, and playbooks to our portfolio, enabling them to gain market and operational advantages by working directly with some of the world’s most prestigious security leaders and following proven patterns for success. This network includes CEOs, CISOs, CTOs, and other experts who help scale go-to-market strategies and accelerate senior talent acquisition, among other areas. As VP of Corporate Development & Partnerships, I am excited to join the Business Development and Platform team led by Amy and work alongside the tenured and proven leadership of Dave, Ken, Morgan, Amy and the rest of the NightDragon team to capitalize on the massive opportunity across the CSSP sector and help our portfolio companies drive their next stage of expansion. As an investment banker at JP Morgan and UBS, he guided clients on strategic partnerships, securing growth capital to fund innovation, M&A, and making the leap from private to public markets—all the critical path events that companies must navigate as they scale and build enduring businesses. Over the course of his career, Joe has partnered with key players across the cybersecurity sector, including CrowdStrike, Tenable, RSA, ForgeRock, NortonLifeLock, and BeyondTrust, among many others. Most recently, he led Business Development & Strategy for an early-stage content management & delivery startup where he played a key role in building out the go-to-market and partnerships function. Joe graduated Summa Cum Laude from Syracuse University, with a dual major in Economics & Political Science. While at Syracuse, he was a Division I athlete on the Track and Cross Country teams.
