This “Fifth Battleground” is the result of a perfect storm of technology innovation, increased vulnerabilities, heightened levels of danger, geopolitical tensions and enabling anonymity of attackers.
As U.S. Secretary of Defense from 2015 to 2017, Ash Carter oversaw all of these domains. I sat down with him on May 17 to discuss the current cybersecurity threat landscape and his experiences from handling significant global events during his term, the relationship between the public and private sector and his lessons from an impressive career in public service.
