Over 25 years ago, I was captivated by cybersecurity—the people, the impact, and the pace of innovation. The resilience and dedication of cyber defenders worldwide inspire me every day. For that reason, NightDragon’s mission to secure our world has always deeply resonated with me; it aligns with the unwavering commitment that has shaped my entire career.
From my early days supporting the Department of Defense in national security to building security market leaders like Guardent (acquired by Verisign), Foundstone (acquired by McAfee), and Ciphent/Accuvant (now Optiv), my focus has always been on the customer as the cornerstone of every mission.
Ten years ago, I set out to tackle a new challenge—protecting critical digital assets beyond the reach of the traditional firewall and endpoint, particularly across the expanding external attack surface, from social media to mobile apps and the deep and dark web. This vision led me to found ZeroFox, growing it into a multi-hundred-million-dollar public company with a global workforce. The journey from powerpoint to publicly-traded allowed me to refine the playbooks for setting ambitious goals, building aligned teams, executing strategic M&A, expanding globally, and achieving sustainable, large-scale growth. We created a powerful enterprise protecting thousands of organizations from significant external threats, recognized industry-wide for our technology, talent, and impact.
Today, while some challenges feel familiar, our adversaries continue to grow more sophisticated, and the pace and scope of attacks escalate. In the modern landscape of Generative AI, cloud computing, cryptocurrency, connected devices, and near-flawless deep fakes, we’re not only facing a more complex threat but an asymmetric one. A new cyber revolution is underway, with a global talent shortage compounding the challenge, and we’re positioned at its epicenter.
As I enter the next chapter of my career, I’m excited to join NightDragon as an Operating Partner, where I’ll leverage over two decades of experience to support the operational growth of NightDragon’s portfolio companies. I look forward to sharing my expertise as a multi-time CEO and founder to help scale mission-driven organizations that meet today’s pressing security needs and deliver value to our investors and shareholders. At ZeroFox, I was proud to lead over 30 consecutive quarters of rapid ARR growth and five strategic acquisitions, creating a global powerhouse with a measurable impact on mitigating digital risk. Now, I’m excited to bring that same momentum and experience to NightDragon’s portfolio.
I’m grateful to the mentors, colleagues, and teams who have helped me along this journey. I’m also thrilled to be joining forces with my long-time friend, Dave DeWalt, as well as the exceptional team of Managing Directors Morgan Kyauk, Ken Gonzalez, and Partners Barbara Massa and Amy De Salvatore, as we further NightDragon’s mission to secure a safer world for the future.
