I grew up in the Bay Area watching entrepreneurship and technology firsthand. My dad owned a small business in hardware tech, and I remember going to the office with him and learning about the technology he sold and what it took to grow a successful company.
One day, my dad came home devastated. A ransomware attack had hit his company, and I heard from him directly about its terrible impact on him and his business. Responding to that required deep cybersecurity expertise and inspired me from that point on to want to devote myself to the cybersecurity ecosystem to help prevent this occurrence from happening to other businesses or individuals.
Years after that incident that impacted me personally, the risk facing businesses worldwide is greater than ever. Attacks on enterprises and small mom-and-pop businesses are happening at an alarming rate, causing an estimated $10.5 trillion in damages around the world annually by 2025. Meanwhile, new risks across cybersecurity, safety, security, and privacy (CSSP) continue to expand, with devastating impacts on supply chains, critical infrastructure, healthcare, national security, and more.
NightDragon has been on the front lines of these issues, putting capital and strategic operating expertise to work to accelerate the companies that can close the gap between offense and defense and help secure our world for tomorrow. I am excited to now add my own financial and investment expertise to the team as an Associate.
Over the past three years, I have built my financial and investment skills within the technology industry, including working with and meeting many founders within the CSSP space. This includes significant experience in executing equity and debt transactions across the cybersecurity, enterprise software, and fintech sectors during my time at Invictus Growth Partners and Hercules Capital.
I look forward to adding this experience to the NightDragon investment team and the companies that the firm partners with. Additionally, I am excited to work closely with Dave, Ken, Morgan, Amy, and the rest of the NightDragon team, whose operational expertise, relationships, partnerships, and playbooks are unparalleled, unique, and valuable assets to any company that is considering a partnership with NightDragon.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I am proud to join a team like NightDragon that is working to secure our world for tomorrow through investment and advisory across CSSP.
